“Asura（1-7）” developed by the founding team of Black Myth: Wukong at Tencent over four years, was China’s first 3D MMORPG centered on a Dark Journey to the West concept. Widely recognized as the spiritual predecessor to Black Myth: Wukong, the game drew inspiration from Wukong Zhuan, breaking traditional narrative frameworks to champion themes of defying authority and defending freedom. Through high – precision motion capture, cinematic combat effects, and optimization of the AGE Engine, it redefined the boundaries of Eastern mythology in gaming. Its seven legendary promotional trailers crafted an epic saga that completely reimagined mythological storytelling.

The game sparked an immediate frenzy, surpassing 10 million registered users within its first month and setting new records for user growth in China – developed MMORPGs at the time. Honored with the 7th Golden Mouth Award for Product of the Year, it also received Tencent’s highest R&D accolade, the Aurora Award for Best Creative Project. Its trailers gained global attention, with CG sequences co – created by The Third Floor (renowned for Avatar). The 7 – minute gameplay demo was a landmark breakthrough for Chinese games in terms of audiovisual narrative and industrial standards.

We are honored to have contributed to the game’s core content and promotional series through comprehensive audio production, including sound design, original score, character voice recording, and final cinematic mixing. We constructed a sonic world of divine – martial contrasts, co – creating an unforgettable Dark Journey to the West epic.
