“Ban Lang Mek”（Thai：บัลลังก์เมฆ）is a 25-episode period drama (approx. 2,000 minutes total runtime) produced in 2008 by Thailand’s renowned production company Exact & Scenario. A remake of Exact’s own iconic 1993 series of the same name, the show chronicles the intertwined fates of two families amid sweeping social change, centering on a passionate cross-class romance entangled with generational feuds, hidden identities, and heart-wrenching choices. With its intricate plot twists and richly drawn characters, the series delivers a compelling blend of family intrigue, emotional depth, and dramatic tension.

Starring an ensemble cast of Thailand’s top-tier actors—including Aom Sushar as the female lead, Num Sujarit as the male lead, alongside veterans Tao Sarunyoo and Mos Patiparn—the production brings together three generations of performers in a masterful display of acting range. Particularly notable are the nuanced portrayals of the parental generation, whose gravitas adds profound emotional resonance to this modern reinterpretation.

The original 1993 version of The Cloud Throne holds deep nostalgic value for Thai audiences. In 2007, it was successfully adapted into a musical, staged for multiple sold-out performances at Bangkok’s Cultural Center—a rare and celebrated example of a Thai TV drama being transformed into live theater. The 2008 television remake achieved consistently high ratings upon broadcast and was hailed by numerous media outlets as “one of the most rewatchable Thai family dramas of the decade.”

Our team participated in the Chinese-dubbed version’s audio production, including Mandarin voice casting, voice recording, sound effects enhancement, and final mixing. In pre-production, we auditioned over 50 voice artists across a week-long selection process, ultimately assembling a core cast of more than 20 seasoned dubbing professionals whose vocal tones and delivery styles were meticulously matched to the original characters’ personalities and performances. To honor the emotional weight and historical scope of this period drama, we carefully layered dialogue dynamics and ambient textures, ensuring a high-fidelity, immersive soundscape that supports the cross-cultural transmission of this beloved classic.
