“Monkey Magic” adapted from a flagship Tencent Animation IP, is a 3D animated feature film directed by Ma Xihai and produced by Shenzhen Mitan Animation. Released nationwide during the 2018 Mid – Autumn Festival, the film follows Sun Wuyuan, a toy monkey who accidentally travels into the mythological world of Journey to the West, teaming up with the legendary Monkey King, Sun Wukong, to defeat an impending threat and discover his own inner strength. With its innovative world – building and polished production values, the film topped the box office for animated features during its release window, earning high praise from audiences and critics alike.
