“The Assassins” Co – produced by Huayi Brothers Media and Beijing Forbidden City Film Co., Ltd., directed by Zhao Linshan, and starring Chow Yun – fat and Liu Yifei, was released in 2012. Set during the twilight of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the film centers on the intricate power struggles surrounding plots to assassinate Cao Cao at the peak of his power. Through the complex, tragic emotional bond between Chow Yun – fat’s Cao Cao and Liu Yifei’s Ling Ju, the film unveils a gripping ballad of power, betrayal, and human struggle during the turbulent Three Kingdoms era.

The film won the Golden Angel Award at the 8th Chinese American Film Festival and was nominated for Best Visual Effects at the 3rd Beijing International Film Festival, earning international recognition for its high production values. A landmark in cross – media entertainment, the film deeply integrated with Tencent’s QTE – themed nation – war MMORPG Yu Long Zai Tian, launching a synchronized global launch celebration that achieved powerful synergy between film and gaming IPs, expanding its audience across demographics.
