“Asura” developed over four years by the founding team of Black Myth: Wukong at Tencent, officially launched in 2012 as China’s first 3D MMORPG built around a Dark Journey to the West concept. Considered the spiritual predecessor to Black Myth: Wukong, the game takes inspiration from Wukong Zhuan, shattering traditional mythic narrative frames to advance the core theme of resisting tyranny and defending freedom. Through layered storytelling and hardcore action design, it builds an epic world where gods and demons collapse and all living beings rise in rebellion.

Shortly after release, the game exceeded 600,000 concurrent users, becoming a landmark moment for Chinese MMORPGs. It went on to win Product of the Year at the 7th Golden Mouth Awards, earning unanimous praise for its world – building depth, art direction, and combat system.

Voice acting, a cornerstone of immersion, was prioritized from day one. The development team auditioned professional studios across Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Guangzhou, but none captured the title’s dark – mythic tone. Eventually, our voice team emerged after several grueling rounds of casting, leveraging our deep grasp of character essence, precise vocal shaping, and full – pipeline production capabilities. We assumed full responsibility for role VO, recording direction, and post – production alignment, infusing the game with soul – stirring vocal power.

Long-Armed Ape Elder: Known as the Century – Old Seer, a wise elder ape with a weathered, husky tone that conveys the wisdom accumulated over time and an air of mysterious authority.
