“The Soccer Way” (also known as Benevolent Heroes: Phoenix Soars Through Nine Heavens and Happy Football), produced by Shenzhen Yuqiao Animation Co., Ltd., is an animated masterpiece that blends traditional martial arts with Cuju – an ancient Chinese ball game resembling modern soccer that dates back to the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. The film tells the exhilarating adventure of six young heroes who, amidst turbulent times, unite to defend their frontier against the invading Wolf Tribe through high – stakes Cuju matches infused with martial arts techniques.

Driven by its rich cultural identity and solid animation production value, the film won the Gold Award for Top Ten Original Animations at the 5th Shenzhen Animation Festival in 2013 and was nominated for Best Domestic TV Animation at the 12th Sichuan TV Festival Golden Panda Awards. As a representative work of Shenzhen’s original animation industry, it has been broadcast on CCTV Children’s Channel, Golden Eagle Cartoon, and numerous regional networks. It was also recommended by educational departments across Guangdong Province for school screenings, helping young audiences connect with traditional heritage.
