“Kung Food (Seasons 1-3)” is a massive 156 – episode 3D original animated series produced by Guangzhou Easy Animation and directed by Sun Haipeng. The story follows Sihai, a spirited steamed bun who accidentally damages the ancient secret scroll that preserves the balance of the food world. To fix his mistake, he teams up with six uniquely skilled culinary heroes, including the passionate dumpling Bao Qiang, on an epic quest across vast lands and seas. The series masterfully blends global food culture, regional traditions, and martial arts elements to build a whimsical, culturally rich fantasy world.

Lauded for its exceptional production quality and edutainment value, Kung Food was named an Excellent Domestic Animation by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television in 2014. The director, Sun Haipeng, celebrated for his mastery of cultural realism and Eastern aesthetics, later directed the critically acclaimed 2021 animated feature I Am What I Am, winning Best New Director at the 30th Shanghai Film Critics Awards – a testament to the team’s world – class narrative and visual capabilities. The Kung Food franchise has aired widely on CCTV Kids, Golden Eagle Cartoon, Youku, and Tencent Video, amassing over 1.5 billion views, while its derivative toys, books, and exhibitions have achieved massive commercial success.

Our team was entrusted with the complete audio design for all 156 episodes, managing music editing, character voice – overs, sound effects creation, and the final mixing. To complement the food anthropomorphism visual concept, we systematically built a custom sound effects and ambient library tailored to each character’s traits and regional culinary background. Through precise sound design and dynamic pacing, we elevated the narrative tension and cultural depth, delivering an immersive, premium auditory experience.
