“Marvel’s Inhumans” is a sci – fi television series co – produced by Marvel Television, ABC Studios, and IMAX Corporation, premiering in 2017. As an expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the narrative centers on the Inhumans, a royal family of enhanced beings possessing unique superhuman abilities. Following a military coup in their lunar city of Attilan, King Black Bolt and his family are forced to flee to Earth, scattering across Hawaii. As they evade capture and work to reunite, they must find a way to reclaim their throne and safeguard their civilization.

The series marked a historic localization milestone as Marvel’s first officially authorized original series to be translated and distributed simultaneously in mainland China via iQIYI, alongside its US broadcast on ABC. In an innovative industry first, its premiere episodes debuted globally on commercial IMAX screens, marking the first time a television series launched with a widespread theatrical IMAX release. While the show’s reception didn’t match initial expectations, its hybrid cinema – television – streaming distribution model remains a classic case study in international entertainment strategy.

Our team was honored to handle the audio post – production for the localized Chinese version, overseeing sound optimization, Mandarin dialogue tracking, and final mixing. To support the series’ high – concept sci – fi atmosphere, we meticulously sculpted low – frequency effects, environmental spatial depth, and dialogue clarity, ensuring the localized audio tracking perfectly preserved the emotional intensity, pacing, and tone of the original performances.
