[ Metal Slug ] Launched by Japanese developer SNK in 1996, this iconic 2D side-scrolling shooter series became one of the most influential action-shooting IPs of the arcade era, celebrated for its bold pixel art style, high-speed combat pacing, and humorous, exaggerated aesthetics. Beyond its gameplay and visual legacy, the series distinguished itself through innovative musical design, where distinctive soundscapes amplified character personalities and environmental atmospheres.

We created the original track [Black Flag Flies] for the antagonist group “Black Flag Gang.” Blending hip-hop rap and electronic dance music, the track is driven by a powerful beat and an unapologetic attitude, vividly portraying the gang’s mix of mischief and menace. Arranged with Arabic musical motifs, it perfectly matches the desert battlefield setting, giving the music a strong exotic flavor and memorable identity. Our team led the full production of the track—from composition and arrangement to final mixing—integrating original audio deeply into the game world and infusing this classic IP with a creative, immersive auditory expression.
