[ Nono, het Zigzag Kind ] (also known as “Junior’s Journey”) is a coming-of-age drama directed by Eric van Egmond and produced under the supervision of Dutch filmmaker Martin Koolhoven. Released in 2012, the film follows Nino, a 13-year-old boy on the cusp of adolescence, who flees home to confront the complexities of the adult world. Amid threats from street thieves and the harsh realities of survival, he embarks on a dual quest: to uncover the truth about his origins while navigating a path between vulnerability and resilience. Through a nuanced and realistic lens, the film explores themes of isolation, courage, and emotional discovery, offering a deeply human portrait of youth grappling with identity and belonging.

The film’s emotionally resonant storytelling earned its selection in the Generation Kplus Competition at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival, drawing international critical attention. Its profound portrayal of marginalized youth sparked widespread discussions in Dutch educational and social welfare circles, with De Volkskrant praising it as “a quiet yet powerful coming-of-age fable.”

We contributed to the film’s audio production, handling voice-over, sound enhancement, and final mixing.
