【10000 Years Later]】independently developed and produced by Shenzhen Yili Animation & Film, premiered nationwide in 2015 after seven years of dedicated creation. Utilizing full CG technology, the film constructs an Eastern sci-fi world, telling a story set against a post-human civilization where humans and otherworldly creatures battle for survival among ruins. Through a time-spanning adventure, it explores profound philosophical questions about the continuity of civilization. For this project, veteran New Zealand sound designer John McKay, known for his work on The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit series, was specially invited to collaborate on the film’s sound design.

The film earned a nomination for Best Animated Feature at the 16th China Film Huabiao Awards, recognized for its unique original universe and visual innovation. It stands as a landmark work in the industrial development of original Chinese animation. After its release on Tencent Video, it has consistently attracted fans of fantasy genres, driving technological advancement in Chinese-language animation.

Our team is honored to have participated in all aspects of the film’s audio production, including voice dubbing, sound design, music editing, and final mixing. Throughout the process, we maintained close communication with John McKay’s team, exchanging creative ideas and perspectives, seeking a balance between Eastern and Western sound aesthetics, and jointly crafting a rich, emotionally resonant auditory experience for this Eastern sci-fi world.
